Making more mixed-material cross-sectional pieces this week. I do this in the summer because I can open up the shop and let the stinky bone dust blow out. People ask me why I don't make more of these, so I show the steps in the process of placing hundreds of individual pieces on end, pouring epoxy, cutting off excess and sanding to thickness, redoing epoxy to fill voids, final sanding and surface treatments and waxing. I will keep one for a project, and use the others as gifts and donations. (I give one to the Morgan Conservatory for their fundraiser). Worth the effort, but once a year is enough.
